just finished watching 'amelie'
wat a beautiful movie to watch. makes me wonder why it doesnt come in the form of a book.
the storyline was simply very pleasing. not that kind tat satisfy ur usual tastes.
a kind that makes u thing so much along the way with the movie.
and
watching the movie makes me think of the uncanny similarities tat amelie and i have.
most of her thoughts and actions are something tat i can relate to. surprisiingly. coz she's supposed to be weird.
or maybe i am wat i was called by him. i am weird.

like how her heart beats incredibly fast when her father uses a stethoscope to check her heart rate every once a month and they only interact once a month.
it wasnt racing coz of incest. it was racing coz she was touched by the intimacy that she and her dad can share for the one time, every month.
and she's fond of the guy who works at the grocery store. in a friendly way i mean! yet he has a mental deficiency. by the looks of it, low IQ.
that happens to me sometimes when i meet someone like tat. not all the time though. i have limited patience.
just tat anyone with extreme kindness and gentle touch tends to have the same effect on me.
like the old granny nurse, so sweet and always calls me 'darling dear'.

i wonder if ppl ard me have that too. i dont have a racing heart when i talk to my dad. totally. no way.

amelie lived in a world of her own. she imagines. always asking herself silly questions. but never really saying them out. so she's still sort of normal.

some lines that i loved from the movie
'you'll never be a vegetable becoz even an artichoke has a heart'
'when the finger points to heaven, only the idiot looks at the finger'

there were plenty more. just tat i cant rmb.
and she got a weird guy too. in the end. they looked each other in the eye intently for the second time in the movie and kissed like old lovers. that part blew me away.
he was weird. in a good way.
he's a good man.
wonder when i will i find mine.

all in all,
the movie had a very surreal parisian effect on me.
i'm like reaaaally in the zone now.
dont supposed i would be out of it soon. =)
